New EU Information Centre

The EU Delegation has opened in Soroca a new EU Information Centre (EUi). It will provide the local public with information and literature covering a wide range of areas, inter alia on EU programmes and instruments for Moldova, EU legislation, business rules and, not least, culture.

The EUis network in Moldova receives materials and specialised literature from the Publications Office of the European Union, based in Luxemburg. A cooperation agreement in this respect was signed with every host education institution.

The newsletter covers the closing event of the €1 million Twinning project on Support to the Implementation and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova; planning conference to help local public authorities in forest management of their localities; training session for 50 Ministry of Interior officers on EU regulations and standards regarding readmission policies and their impact on migration management; workshops for 50 representatives of Moldovan agribusiness, wine producers and public institutions on geographical indications and their benefits.

You will find in the newsletter the announcement of the new Open Call for Proposals within the Thematic Programme “Non-State Actors (NSA) and Local Authorities (LA) in Development” and Neighbourhood Civil Society Facility. The overall budget of this Call is €1.05 million. The grant available are between €150,000 and €300,000. The deadline for the submission of applications is 2 July 2012
